Gibson have delved into their rich history as inspiration for this very cool guitar. The 'non-reverse' Firebird (where the horn on the bass side of the body is slightly longer than on the treble side) first made an appearance in 1965 in an attempt to increase on dwindling sales of the original 'reverse' body design that was introduced two years earlier in 1963.
So this incarnation features a solid Mahogany body with the Mahogany neck being glued into the body with a mortis & tenon joint. The neck has a rounded profile and a Rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius and a Tektoid nut. The tried and tested Alnico II '57 Classic and '57 Classic Plus are the pickups of choice here with the perfect balance of tone & power. Gibson padded gigbag included.
